Thanks for agreeing to judge this competition.
Ian asked if there is a rubric for judging entries. My inclination is to leave the judging to you, but I would suggest a few common sense criteria like:
feasiblity: eg if someone says "Movie opens with Clint Eastwood..." I would suggest that's a non-starter
validity: does it actually address the chosen theme?
is it interesting or different in some way?
Those are my thoughts anyway.
Bear in mind a couple of things:
1. people won't know you're the judges, but have a legal right to ask
2. I am going to amend rules to say judges decision is final + no correspondence, to protect us all from endless arguments!
3. It's probably good practice to actually have criteria that you can share, as opposed to tossing a coin!
4. If you can come up with some criteria (in addition to the above) pretty quickly then I will mention them in the announcement of the competition
You might want to each take particular themes. It's up to you, but just keep me informed please
